Tea Dance

Hopefully once the pandemic is a distant memory we will be able to have more Tea Parties like this one.
AFTERNOON TEA PARTY / DANCE  November 3 2019
TEA FOR ALL! Thanks so much everyone who came to the first ‘AFTERNOON TEA DANCE / PARTY’, this one to celebrate Fred’s 20 years of dancing. It was a sold out Party with a full dance floor all afternoon. It was a worthy reason to celebrate. Fred is a dedicated instructor and one who is determined that his dancers have fun! And indeed we do! Thanks Fred for all you do for us and for line dancing. As well thanks to Eddie for keeping us all on the straight and narrow!!
Many thanks to Victor Scaletchi (via Bobby) for supplying the sound system and Fred for manning the controls! Geri Amyot (with a few from Laurel) supplied us with 65 china tea cups and saucers, plus tea pots, milk jugs and so on! Plus cake tiers for all the delicious goodies! Geri made it a genuine tea party for sure! Thanks to Donna Marino and Caroline Smardenkas for platters of tea sandwiches, Dale for her little quiches, plus lots of desserts and goodies from Delia Rasile, Brenda Colclough, Diane Robert, Diane Van
De Ven and to anyone else I missed who brought tasty treats. I brought along scones with jam and whipped cream! It was a feast with three tables full of food and it was all eaten!!
Lovely to see Sammy Buckley helping her Mum Eddie at the door and also little Scarlet. No doubt we have a future line dancer there to take over from where her Mum left off!! It was Eddie’s suggestion that we donate money raised from the 50/50 to the Children’s Wish Foundation. So $130 has been sent to the Foundation and winner Donna became everyone’s new best friend!! Thanks for your generosity everyone.
Many many thanks to all those who helped set up and to the gang who helped with the take down. I am sure Fred would agree that we couldn’t do this kind of event without our friends. They sure are something special.
Thanks also to those dancers who traveled a distance, we really appreciate you coming and joining us. Many of the dancers said it was so much fun to catch up with dancers they hadn’t seen for quite a while. It was a full floor of dancers all afternoon and the back of the room was full of laughter and socializing! It was a party indeed and put a smile on my face the whole time.
Happy Dancin’ everyone!
PS Thanks to Jim Booth for his photos and video from the day and to Ernie for these photos. If anyone else took any please do post so we can all enjoy. Much appreciated.
PPS We also had quick teaches of three of Fred’s dances, Ruurd Van de Ven taught “Return to Sender’, Amina Odabashian taught ‘An Angel With Blue Eyes’ and Victor Scaletchi taught ‘All Messed Up’, Lots of fun!
